Replacing the Escudo steering rack: (1) Raise the vehicle and remove front wheels. (2) Drain power steering fluid by disconnecting the return line at the reservoir. (3) Disconnect tie rod ends from steering knuckles using a ball joint separator. (4) Remove the steering column intermediate shaft pinch bolt. (5) Disconnect high-pressure and return hydraulic lines. (6) Unbolt rack mounting brackets from the subframe. (7) Slide the rack out through the wheel well. (8) Transfer tie rods from old rack, matching thread engagement.
